About the challenge Hack for Social Impact, in Partnership with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and Chan Zuckergurg Initiative, is a two-day hackathon to mobilize the technical skills of prominent software engineers and data scientists in Silicon Valley to work on solutions to the most pressing issues faced by governments and nonprofits. During the hackathon, participants build data or software solutions to problems presented by mission-oriented organizations working in cause areas such as climate and housing.
